Ever felt like you’re working so hard, delivering the outcomes, yet somebody else gets the promotion?
Here’s the truth: delivering outcomes isn’t always enough. Promotions don’t just go to the hardest worker – they go to those who consciously demonstrate value, impact, and build genuine relationships at the next level, exhibiting executive presence.
So, what should you do?
Shift from doing to being: Don’t just deliver results – show up authentically, with your whole leadership.
Make your impact visible: Senior leaders can’t always see your contribution unless you communicate it clearly and authentically. And yes, you can stay humble, while you’re doing so.
Invest in self-awareness: Know your strengths, but also notice if you’re overusing them – because overplayed strengths will become your weaknesses, and that will lead to frustration.
Be future-focused: Speak the language of possibilities, strategy and growth – not just tasks completed.
Now, ask yourself: Am I simply working harder, or am I consciously positioning myself as the leader ready for the next step?

An Executive Coaching Point of View (ExCoVi)
As an Executive Master Coach and Trainer, I am very fortunate to work with various talented, high-achieving and wonderful people. Every time I coach, I learn something new about my client, our society and myself. The summary of thoughts is based on emerging themes across all kinds of interactions I have; be it one-on-one executive coaching, group coaching or coaching training. ExCoVis are meant to invite people to think differently based on scientifically or statistically proven understanding and lateral thinking. None of the content is meant to offend anyone in any way and is rather an invitation to discuss different executive points of view with respect and integrity. The content is shared to raise awareness and to inspire people to integrate their conscious and unconscious mind and therefore transform unconscious behaviour into conscious behaviour.
